Terms & Conditions

Ambiente Modern is a third generation family-owned business. We care deeply about contemporary furniture, design, and serving the needs of our clients. This document sets out the terms and conditions of sale. 

SPECIAL ORDERS

Special orders are defined as products not in stock at any Ambiente location, and thus are ordered specifically for the customer. Special orders may be changed or canceled up to 72 hours after the order is placed. After that time, special orders are final sale and no changes, cancellations, returns, exchanges or refunds are permitted. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of purchase. Ambiente will notify you when the order is ready for delivery or pickup. Final payment is due upon arrival of the merchandise in an Ambiente location. Final payment is required before scheduling delivery or pickup. See also STORAGE FEES. 

Special order lead times are estimates based on manufacturer’s recommendations and are subject to change without notice. Delayed orders are not subject to cancellation due to delay.  Ambiente will update our clients as information is available to us. We are not responsible for delays beyond our control including but not limited to supply chain issues, vendor production schedules, labor issues, customs, transportation difficulties, freight requirements, weather-related delays, political strife, war, pandemics, acts of government, and/or zombie apocalypses. 

IN-STOCK MERCHANDISE

Stocked merchandise is merchandise that is physically present and available for sale in an Ambiente Modern location. Stocked orders must be paid-in-full at time of purchase. Pick-up or delivery must be arranged within 30 days or storage fees will apply. In-stock merchandise may be eligible for return or exchange per RETURN POLICY.

CLEARANCE MERCHANDISE

Clearance merchandise is merchandise marked as “clearance”. Clearance merchandise is final sale only. Clearance merchandise must be paid-in-full at time of purchase. Clearance merchandise becomes property of the client at time of purchase whether or not it has been taken or delivered. Clearance merchandise is sold as-is, no warranties expressed or implied, including the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. 

STORAGE FEES

Merchandise as part of this order stored at Ambiente for more than 30 days from purchase date for stocked items, or merchandise arrival, will be subject to a storage fee of 5% of the original purchase price for each month of storage, due the first day of each month. These fees go into effect upon receipt of the final item on the order. Unless prior arrangements are made with store leadership, merchandise that hasn’t been accepted by customer will constitute rejection of merchandise and all claims by customer to this merchandise are forfeit. All deposits will be forfeited by client, and merchandise may be re- sold without notice.

DELIVERY

Ambiente Modern offers white-glove delivery services to ensure your new merchandise is delivered and set-up properly. Clients are responsible for measuring all doorways, halls, and other entrances to ensure merchandise can be delivered to the desired location. Failure to fit is not grounds for return. Space must be cleared of existing items for delivery. We do not handle customer electronics. We also offer customer pickup. Clients are responsible for bringing their own packing materials and labor for loading. Clients are responsible for inspecting merchandise prior to signing acceptance of goods. RETURN POLICY

– Eligible merchandise may be returned within seven (7) days of delivery date provided it is in like-new, sellable condition as determined by Ambiente leadership. All components including any paperwork must be included. Delivery and shipping charges are non-refundable. Delivery pickup charges apply for merchandise that cannot be safely returned by the customer. 

-Natural characteristics of materials including, but not limited to,  wood grain, leather characteristics, artisan-made items, etc are considered normal variations and do not constitute reason for return. 

-Clearance merchandise, special orders, any merchandise altered in any way by client or their agents including unauthorized repairs, bedding (mattresses, bed pillows, bed linens, sleeper sofas) are not eligible for return, exchange, or refunds.

-Purchases made by credit card or financing will be refunded to the original form of payment. Purchases made by cash or check will be refunded by company check. Allow approximately four (4) weeks for check refunds.

WARRANTY

We select our products based on high standards for quality and design. Ambiente offers a one (1) year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship on all our offerings. Ambiente Modern holds the right to restore, repair, or replace merchandise (special order or stock) that arrives incorrectly or damaged. Merchandise needing restoration, repair, or replacement does not constitute grounds for cancellation. After the first year, any manufacturer’s warranty  may apply. In addition, we offer a five (5) year accidental damage protection plan for a nominal charge. We’ll be happy to supply you with more information at your request.
